Balqis Al Rashed was born in Riyadh, Saudi and raised in Beirut for sixteen years where she graduated from the American University of Beirut.
Balqis draws inspiration from her own experiences, travels, and observations of human practices, conditions, and everyday rituals. After she lost her father in 2016, Balqis dedicated her time to process her grief by focusing her attention on the meaning of life, death, and the state consciousness. In December 2018, her prolific Instagram account was shut down due to its expressive artistic nature.
