Barbara has a background in finance and is a chartered accountant by profession. Her roles in different organisations has seen her work in the private and public sector, latterly as a senior civil servant with the Scottish Government. She was formerly the Director of People for the Scottish Government and for the Scottish Prison Service, and latterly she held the position of Director of Communications, Ministerial Support and Facilities. She now is an associate consultant working on projects across the UK and in Europe, and sits on the Board of Scottish Ballet and has a number of voluntary and charity roles. Away from work, she enjoys dance and theatre, travel, reading, knitting and walking her dog.
