David has been an Emergency Medicine Consultant since 2006, Clinical Director for Emergency Medicine, Associate Medical Director at the WGH, and has served as Interim Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Senior Strategic Advisor for Health Workforce in Scottish Government.
He led the implementation of the Scottish Trauma Network and the Leadership & Talent Management Strategy in SG before supporting the CMO in the National response to Covid-19.
David also is Scottish Lead for the Faculty of Medical Leadership & Management, is a member of the Scottish Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, Chair of the SG SLWG for revising the guidance for Acting on Professional Concerns, Clinical Advisor to Scottish Ballet’s Dance Health Programme, and a trustee of the Medic 1 Charity. He has a forgiving wife and 3 children.
