Iona has worked in a variety of roles within the visual art sector co-ordinating and managing community projects and partnerships across Scotland. She is currently Associate Director (Communities) of Art in Healthcare; managing the participatory visual art programme which supports the health and wellbeing of people with mental health challenges, long term conditions and unpaid caring responsibilities. This includes three main strands: 'Room for Art', a social prescription project running in five Edinburgh localities since 2016, ‘Caring Spaces’; working with adult unpaid carers in Lothian and ‘Taking Art Home’; online workshops for those that due to health, find it very difficult to leave the house.
