Tony Woods is a physiologist with degrees from King's College London (B.SC.) and St. George University of London (Ph.D). After 11 years in research (incl. 4 years as a neuroscience lecturer) Tony spent 15 years at one of the world's largest charitable foundations- Wellcome Trust, where he became Head of Medical Humanities and Public Engagement grants. He then spent 3 years as CEO of Genesis Research Trust (a charity based at Imperial College funding research to improve women’s and babies’ health) and returned to Wellcome to take charge of a research hub looking at perceptions of dementia. He is now a programme manager at King's College London having secured a £3m in grants for arts in health interventions. He is also Chair of the Board of Trustees of local charity, Kingston Carers' Network.
